Bot wars

User configurable bots.
There needs to be a basic bot profile that has available to it key variables and methods and is amenable to having its behavior programmed by the unwashed masses.
Perhaps it could look for its brain in a file at runtime?
It doesn't necessarily need a trajectory prediction algorithm for aiming - it could do it on a fire/miss/adjust direction-and-power/rinse/repeat basis. Or any other way the bot's creator pleases.
So, bots need to know::
Own position Enemy positions own projectile positions enemy projectile positions Location of impact of most recently detonated projectile Weapons and ammo
Bots can:: move aim fire
Bots need to be defined as individuals, named separately by their brain, so that different bot brains can be pitted against each other and players.
Potentially highly amusing for experimenting with battle strategies through scripting, and the effectiveness of various schools of AI.
