FPS display
Reported by Mark | November 21st, 2008 @ 06:50 PM
I feel like I'm having framerate issues. Could we have a framerate display, perhaps at the touch of a button or on entering '/fps' in the text window?

If you've got the source building, you can change game.showFPS to true in config.properties, it displays in the top left and isn't configurable yet, we should probably put a real one in, along with an options menu.

Ah, I do, but only on a Linux laptop where, as far as I remember, the frame rate was smooth. It's on my desktop running XP that it's a bit stuttery.

The framerate will also probably be more stuttery when running a practice game than it will be online because you're running both the client and the server in a practice game. It's probably about time we did another profiling to figure out where performance bottlenecks are.

Oh right. Actually I don't remember having a problem online so perhaps it is just in the practice game after all.
