Sound improvements
Reported by riot | November 28th, 2008 @ 10:43 PM
I understand sound needs a rework, so here are a few obvious suggestions that have been floating around for a bit:
Volume control. Should be top priority really.
Some music might be nice. Or maybe just some ambient swamp noises and the like, to match the scenery.
A whooshy sound for projectiles traversing the screen. Perhaps with appropriate stereo bias. And a weapon launching sound at the start that isn't quite as dramatic as an explosion but not as stealthy as it currently is.
Clunky sounds for rollers rebounding
More than one generic explosion sound.
Perhaps volume that scales slightly depending on distance of sound source from your own tank - give a bit more of a sense of presence. Perhaps consider having the stereo bias relative to your own tank also, rather than relative to the screen overall? Something to experiment with.
Do we have a "sound guy"?

Also menu sounds, and a subtle click every time there's a message. A fairly in-your-face someone-has-joined-the-game-in-the-lobby sound would be good too, so i can leave the game running and only pay attention when someone enters the lobby.
