Browser
Reported by Peter Waters | August 13th, 2012 @ 05:13 PM
I came across this game and thought is was very cool, especialy loved the fact that the tanks have jetpacks! but is annoying that it can't be played on java7 which is what most computers now run on and will soon come pre-installed with...
Another thing is, that if somehow, it could be made browser playable, I know it would be a massive hit at the school I used to go to, as the most popular games played there were always multiplayer, competitive ones...
and also, will this game be compatible with windows 8?

Hi Peter, thanks for the feedback!
I've been running it on Java 7 without issues myself, if you've been having problems with it could you let us know what OS you're using it on? I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work on Windows 8, but I don't have a copy of it to test with.
It would be possible to create an applet version of the game to make it "browser playable", although applets have traditionally had some issues so we've been kind of reluctant to do that.

I tried it on both windows vista/7 laptops, and only those with java6 worked, might be a bug?
If you made a "browser playable" version that would be amazing, i've seen that most games played by the 8-13 age group are online games, especially extremely compatible ones that will work with older versions of flash/java and that work on older operating systems as well (windows xp). think boarding schools, all that is required for a game to be a huge success, is for it to be browser playable, have social abilities, and be able to play with your friends on your own server! e.g. I highly reccomend this...
I know a group of people at the top social tier at one of these schools, and all it will take is one of them to start playing it before it becomes a massive craze! The most successful games in the past have been things like transformice, and even simple games (where you blow stuff up) like trafalgar origins!
Thanks for your super-fast responses!
And finally what will you call the game? (if you don't know, you could always crowd source it!)

A stupid game where you blow things up.
