Stable starting positions for all tanks

Often the random starting positions will drop tanks in untenable locations, where on game start they will find themselves rolling down hills or landing upside down. Perhaps have the game flatten the little patch of ground under spawn sites? Or have it choose locations relatively intelligently, i.e. no spawn on slopes over 25 degrees or so.

Flattening the ground under spawn sites I like. It would basically be setting the height of the ground from tank - tankWidth/2 to tank + tankWidth/2 to the average height of the ground between those points, plus a little space either side.
